Procedural Geometery Assessment 2

Procedural Geometry PRODUCTION  and Assessment 2
Particles Experimentation
Testing and creating particles taking the shape of a '5A' helpes to create the snow and spark effects needed for the animation. I was able to understand the basics of creating and editing the particles.

Pyro Experimentation
Pyro was a necessity for this experiment, some help from the Entagma youtube channel really helped create a uniqie fire spread.
Using pyro source spread I was able to create this cool effect of fire spreading accross the points of an object. This greatly affected render time and did make it hard to render. But the use of particles and simulations within the pyro was great experimentation.

Ice/Crystal Creation
The Ice I wanted to create was large and obtuse on the earth shape. Finding the right turotial was hard until I found a crystal tutorial.
With some clever uses of VOPS and Volumes as well as nicely done shaders I was able to create a solid ice like shape to be used. I could experiment with this many times to fit the needs of the animation.

Assessment 2
Assessment 2 is a visual rendition of the poem 'Fire and Ice' by Robert Frost. This Poem conveys the ending of the world via the elements of fire and Ice, the poem uses a sad and sorrowful tone with hints of power to concey the emotion of the peom. I wanted to convey the use of the elements and the mundane lifeless tone that can be found.
There will be a recording of the poem that I will use as narration to the happening in the animation, as a guidance it will help direct the animation.

The mood board shows the general look and idea of the short animation and visualization. To account for the theme of the poem there will be fire and ice generation. The sphere represents the look and feel of the scene.

StoryBoard

As I began to create the animation with assets from the experimentations above I realised that running these assets consitantly and at the same time was too much for my computer. Thus, I took out the use of sparks, and cut the animation into three shots in which they were rendered seperately. This made the rendering workload much easier to do.

Production Process
First Created the Scene and blocked and planned where all parts would go and take place
Started to create the particles for the snow fall as to create a better scene for the ice section
Created a snow flake model and intigrated it to the particle simulation above the scene, thus, creating snow
Finalized the scene with parts in place
created am earth model with and used a displacement bump map to create the textured bump on the surface
Added the experimented pyro simulation to the scene to the bump earth oject
Created the ice scene using the snow particles and the experimented crystal model. I animated the crystals to grow to the scatter to points on the sphere to show growth.
I the finalized the scenes and rendered in open GL, while making sure things like shaders especially for the ice were working
Placed all the cuts into premiere pro and finalized the animation

Animation
This animation was very difficult to create as all simulations and model took a heavy processing and render toll on my computer, this made it harder to render and even document the process undertaken.
